Project: Website UX + UI Design
Brief: "Take our existing brochure site and re-invent it, showcase what we do online"
My role: Design of a fully responsive website, project management of design and build.
[This site has had more exciting re-inventions since we worked on the original, but this is still a great case-study showing the first iteration of the site moving from a fairly static shop front page, to a responsive, useful product showcase site relevant and useful for interior designers and space planners.]
Aspect have design and project management specialists in-house with most product purchased as part of large-scale office fit-out projects, so whilst the site needed to showcase the wide variety of product on offer, an e-commerce facility was not required at this time. We did need to allow for comprehensive documentation to be attached to each product, specs sheets, pdfs, renders and other items that would help interior designers when planning spaces and seeking furniture to suit.
The site features case studies, product ‘in context’ in banner images and a comprehensive news feed.
We chose a tile system for the home page so new products could regularly be featured alongside news, and the tile system was followed through to the product space as it was an economical way to show a wide range of product in a gallery format by categories.
The in-house design and marketing team took on the task of product photoshoots of content loading, and do a fantastic job.
